Tim helped develop a revolutionary color change process in which two classes of known dyes, in specific applications, change from color to clear, or from color to another color. Depending upon the formulation, this change occurs when the dyes are exposed to air, water, or pressure.
The technology is a single-phase color change system in which water-soluble dyes provide the color and facilitate the change. No additional chemicals or additives are necessary. The dyes resemble commercially available polymeric colorants in both cost and availability. Patent protection was sought for over 150 applications of the technology.
